Camp Grab is slowly dressing in its beautiful autumn colours. Our camp was named after the hornbeam tree, known locally as grab, which grows throughout the surrounding forest.
Autumn has finally arrived after a long and exceptionally warm summer. Although we all enjoy high temperatures—especially when combined with the refreshing, cold waters of the Tara River—we certainly missed the rain that keeps our camp lush and green.
Still, the untouched nature, the wildlife all around us, this year’s breathtaking starry skies, and the most beautiful river have created their own special kind of magic once again.
It is now mid-September, and everything feels quieter. We are still open and working, but this is the time of year we perhaps enjoy the most. There is less rush, which means more time to get to know every guest. The atmosphere becomes more intimate and personal. We slow down, feel rested, and have time to truly appreciate the river and the surrounding nature—beautiful in every season.
The days are still warm, while the nights are just cool enough to make you want to wrap yourself in a blanket after sitting beside the fire. Then, you can fall asleep to the sound of the river and wake up to birdsong.
Camp Grab remains open until mid-October, so come and experience this peaceful side of the Tara Canyon with us. We can go kayaking or rafting, explore the surrounding mountains on foot, or enjoy a cycling adventure through the spectacular landscape.
Autumn at Camp Grab has its own rhythm, colours, and quiet kind of magic.
